Last Wednesday our Spotlight team had the privilege of visiting Forever After Finds, a unique second floor store on Main Street in downtown Oswego. Upon ascent of their pleasant staircase adorned with butterflies and trees, our crew was welcomed by a cozy shop containing many beautiful homemade items and specialty selections. The space is mother-daughter owned and operated by Teresa Nighelli and Linda Schindelar, an artisan duo responsible for the creation of most of the items found in the shop. Unfinished stones and crystals rested next to an extensive display of handmade jewelry containing distinctive polished semi-precious stones, crystal, porcelain, and metalwork designed by shop co-owner Teresa Nighelli. Jewelry cleaning, repair, and custom design/rework of older treasures are services also available to customers. The next room is the special space of “Momma Bear” (co-owner and the “mother” part of the team Linda Schindelar), displaying homemade baby clothes sewn from vintage fabrics, handmade aprons, crocheted baby hats, shoes, and blankets, and other custom items which make great personable gifts for friends, new family members or baby showers.
Although there are many different types of fare throughout, the layout is arranged well and does not feel “cluttered” in its presentation. The space is artfully organized for the visitor to explore and find neat items such as holiday ornaments, floral arrangements, and homemade flavored marshmallows. Ceramic items from All Fired Up appear throughout the store and are paired with air plants and succulents.
Forever After Finds also offers unique classes in various themes and crafting disciplines for all ages, from Ladies’ Afternoon Tea/Tea Leaf Reading to a Swarowski Crystal Jewelry Making Class. The class schedule is listed on Forever After Find’s Facebook page and class themes cover many interests for participants to enjoy. Shop co-owner Teresa was intent on creating a space where one would experience a positive, calming space and find personalized treasures. In addition, she wanted to bring the knowledge found on her own journey of personal healing and wellness to others. To this end Forever After Finds also carries medicinal teas, essential oils and healing crystals, smudging supplies, and offers treatments in Reiki Healing, Reflexology, and Aromatouch.
As guests of the shop, there was an overwhelming feeling of welcome from the shop owners the moment we arrived. Both Teresa and Linda are focused on community and developing relationships with their customers; they both strive to provide services and products that nurture overall wellness and happiness for their clients. This contributed greatly to their choice to establish their business in the Oswego downtown area, a business setting they stated had a “small town” feel with the supportive and collaborative environment they were looking for.
We encourage you to visit this great “find” of a business in our Oswego Downtown! You many also find up-to-date information about class schedules, see pictures and video of new shop arrivals and demonstrations at Forever After Finds’ Facebook page (at address listed above).
